Brooklyn Grange's 1st Annual Meatball Slapdown
It was cloudy with a chance of Meatballs in Brooklyn last week at The Meat Hook and The Brooklyn Kitchen which held the first-ever Meatball Slapdown competition.

Competing were such meaty and venerable institutions as Frankie's Spuntino, Bamonte's, Roebling Tea Room, The Meat Hook and Roberta's, all good Brooklyn watering holes!

...and the Winner of the Best Meatballs in Brooklyn was?
|
Frankie's Spuntino. And yes it was unanimous - they got voted numero uno both by the Judges and the guests in attendance who all got to vote.

Hot New Place To Hang: Destination Bar
Destination Bar has a unique menu developed by its owners and the chef, who is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. It ranges from hot fresh bavarian pretzels, mulled cider with rum, and unique jello shots 'for grownups,' to breakfast sushi (with rolls of bacon and eggs). Daily drink specials include fun mixes, frequently with the sweet tooth in mind, like Blueberry Pancake shot or a Cinnamon Roll Shot.
Mason Reese, one of the owners of Destination Bar, is always up in the air when it comes to spirits!
Destination Bar features a unique drink called the 'Mile High Club' and Bartender Nicole Bourdage makes the concoction with Peach puree, pomegranate Vodka and Champagne for Pub Lak who's flying high with it!
